I qualified as a counsellor in 2011, prior to which I had a career in social care and supported housing. As a counsellor I’ve helped people to explore a wide range of issues but have specific experience in those relating to sexual orientation, gender identity and non-traditional relationship styles.  In recent years this has included work with the straight/cis partners of people who have come out as part of the LGBTQ+ population, people whose needs are frequently overlooked and misunderstood.  I work both in Totnes and online, so physical distance needn’t be a barrier to us meeting.  In recent years I have delivered training to helping professionals on work with issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity and until 2019 I was a group supervisor for counsellors working for the Intercom Trust.
