I'm a Family Law Solicitor and a member of UK and Ireland LGBT+ Family Law Institute, which is part of a global network of leading family lawyers who are often at the cutting edge of LGBT+ family law issues including fertility, children law, matrimonial law, finances and gender identity.
As a volunteer committee member for The Law Society’s LGBTQ+ Solicitors Network, I'm a regular contributor to their blogs and podcasts; a speaker on LGBTQ+ aspects of diversity and inclusion for the legal profession. I led their project team for trans and non-binary inclusion, producing a suite of documents for law firms affirmatively to support transition at work for trans and non-binary employees.
I also hold a wellbeing role as a Reflective Practice Supervisor, holding a FLiP Faculty Diploma and a Level 3 Mental Health First Aid Supervision Certificate.
I've undertaken training with the Law Society of Scotland in Trauma-Informed legal practice. I also mentor senior Judges as part of the judicial reverse mentoring scheme, to foster greater understanding among the judiciary of the particular barriers faced by LGBTQ+ people as users of the court, including as lawyers and their LGBTQ+ clients.
I provide training on LGBTQ+ legal issues for organisations, as well as awareness issues for law firms and other organisations who seek to improve the LGBTQ+ client and/or employee experience.
