Historically LGBTQ+ people have frequently had negative and painful experiences when accessing therapeutic and wellbeing services.  Despite the protection offered by the Equality Act 2010 these clients do not always feel confident that therapy professionals will not:

• Make judgements based on heteronormative assumptions 

• assume their identity is part of their presenting issue 

• expect the client to educate them about their identity
