About us

It's All About You Wellbeing was established in 2008 by Max Cohen to enable people in South West England to find LGBTQ+ -affirmative counsellors and other wellbeing practitioners.

Since this time we have evolved and are very proud to announce that as of 9th April 2021we have become a Community Interest Company (CIC).  This means that we have strengthened our commitment to providing support and resources to our clients and customers in ways that are meaningful to them. We'll be applying for funding and sponsorship over the coming months to enable this to happen.

We have three Directors (Max, Katherine and JC) alongside a fantastic group of enthusiastic Members who are all passionate about the social benefit that IAAYW can make to its beneficiaries, LGBTQ+ clients, family members, allies and the professionals who work with them.

Aims for 2022

Our aim for It’s All About You Wellbeing is for it to become a resource which:

  • Enables LGBTQ+ people to access wellbeing services that are delivered appropriately to meet their particular needs

  • Supports practitioners in their professional development – through training, supervision, mentoring and networking

  • Serves the LGBTQ+ communities and the therapy/wellbeing practitioners supporting them throughout Southwest England

  • Continues to be committed to ending the practice of conversion therapy   - you can view a webinar to explain more about this

  • Increases our focus on diversity and inclusion of under represented groups in LGBTQ+ communities, such as people from Black and ethnic minoritised  backgrounds, people living with disabilities, older people and people across a spectrum of neuro-diversity
